SRTC and the Spokane Regional Health District recently teamed up with Cable Channel 5 to put together a video to publicize the Regional Pedestrian Plan we have been working on with the Regional Pedestrian Plan Committee. Click here to watch the video.

'SmartRoutes' Initiative Application

SRTC is teaming up with other area agencies to seek up to $50 million in grant money for transportation projects aimed at getting more people to walk or ride a bike rather than drive a vehicle. SRTC and the Spokane Regional Health District submitted an application for the the 'SmartRoutes' initiative, which could provide funding for projects that cater to non-motorized transportation. The 2008 Spokane Regional Road Construction Maps are available at local government offices, including SRTC. The maps are published by the County each year, and show all construction projects scheduled for the year for all the regional government agencies. The map also includes descriptions of all the projects. If you cannot pick up a hard copy, you can look at the map by clicking here, and read the project descriptions by clicking here.

We're a little late getting this posted, but better late than never I guess. The SRTC 2008 Calendar of Events has Board and committee meeting dates, document deadlines, and many other dates you may want to mark on your own calendar (the writing is tiny so increase the size to fit your eyesight).

In an effort to reach more people and satisfy the demand for increased interaction between the public and local government agencies, SRTC launched a new interactive 'web log,' or 'blog.' Anyone with transportation questions or concerns is encouraged to click here to read the content and add their own comments or questions.
