Transportation Vision Project Community Workshop
SRTC will host a community workshop on Tuesday, Sept. 14 as part of the Transportation Vision Project currently underway. The Project is aimed at identifying an ideal multi-modal transportation system for the region for the next 30-50 years.

Brown Bag Session To Precede SRTC Board Meeting
The September 9 SRTC Board meeting will be preceded by a brown bag lunch session to learn about a draft Strategic Plan for 2011.  The plan is to ensure SRTC focuses time and attention on key transportation planning and programming activities.

The brown bag session starts at 12 p.m. at 221 W. First Ave., Suite 310, with the regularly-scheduled Board meeting beginning at 1 p.m.  The public is welcome to attend.  Lunch will not be provided.

Call For Projects For CMAQ and Transportation Enhancement Funds
SRTC
announces a Call for Projects for two programs: Congestion Mitigation/Air Quality (CMAQ) Program funds and Statewide Transportation Enhancements program funds. Inland Pacific Hub Seeks Advisory Board Members
SRTC and sister agency Kootenai Metropolitan Planning Organization are seeking members for the Inland Pacific Hub (IPH) Advisory Board. The IPH project is aimed at establishing the Inland Pacific Region as a multi-modal global gateway designed to increase domestic and international commerce and enhance the regional economy. SRTC Rail Symposium Presentation Available
SRTC hosted three national rail and freight experts earlier this month at a symposium on the continuing evolution of the railroad and its effect on the economics of the inland pacific region. Complete Streets Education Materials
SRTC is working with the Education Coalition for Safe and Complete Streets to educate local elected, civic, and business leaders about complete streets and the possibility of passing a complete streets policy in the City of Spokane. Two information sheets regarding complete streets have been produced; one explaining the concept and the benefits of complete streets and another addressing the effects a complete streets policy could have on area businesses. Please pass these info sheets on to anyone you think could benefit from them.

Spokane Regional Road Construction Map Now Available
The free 2010 Spokane Regional Road Construction Map is now available. The map is an annual collaboration of area government jurisdictions, including SRTC, Spokane County, the cities of Spokane and Spokane Valley, and the Washington State Department of Transportation.
